ARTIST'S ROUNDTABLE

The Teaching Artists Professional Development Roundtable Series

The Roundtable brings an impressive collection of professional, multidisciplinary artists together to elevate their career development as teaching artists. Although the program content addresses goals for the artist as educator, the year long series also raises the quality of their personal work.

Through a series of facilitated dialogues, lab sessions, and workshops sponsored by Artsteach the participating Artist/Fellows expand their knowledge of the fundamentals necessary to integrate the arts into elementary curriculums as well as marketing, financial management and grantsmanship collaborations skills. This enterprise strengthens the core skills of teaching artists thereby augmenting the Cultural Center’s ability to accomplish its mission of understanding, appreciating and promoting diverse cultural traditions.

Additionally, our intent is to create a space for the voices of the artists to be heard regarding the educational needs of children in our community. The desired outcome of this initiative is to make a difference for students, teachers and the artists.

An impressive collection of multidisciplinary, professional artist comprises the Center's Roundtable Fellows. Once again the Fellow's art exhibit features a wide range of creative styles in a number of categories. Their 3rd annual Artistry Around Our Table Exhibit personifies and celebrates the "Spirit of Freedom" within us all.
