Jazzy Holiday Luncheon
is the Cultural Center's most important annual fundraiser. We
will share the growing excitement of our transition to the Harvey B. Gantt
Center for African American Arts & Culture and the Center's key
accomplishments over the past year. We will also recognize
corporate and individual supporters who we believe best exemplify the
Spirit of the Center.
South Carolina artist
Jonathan Green will receive the 2008 Spirit of the Center arts
award for his ongoing support of AACC. Green recently
completed a work on paper titled Farm Woman and donated seventy-five
of the one hundred limited edition lithographs to the Afro-American Cultural
Center. Proceeds from this generous gift will help us reach
our Founders Society Campaign goal of $3.5 million. Other
award winners will be announced before the luncheon.
Please join us as we continue to
carry out our mission, to present, preserve and promote African American
art,
culture and history for the education and enjoyment of all.
